Cayo Perico: My experience

I've done the Heist three times now with duos, I'm pretty sure I could even do it solo now.
Make sure you have the Drainage Tunnel option unlocked by swimming behind the compound during the scope out. UPDATE: Make sure you complete the Torch Prep as well! The Torch Prep will not be available in the submarine until you scope out the Drainage Tunnel infiltration point.
If solo, trios, or quads, Make sure you have bolt cutters by the main bay.
I enter through the drainage tunnel putting me right in the compound. UPDATE: I've used the submarine and the halo jump, but I imagine any vehicle will work. If you use the sub it will give you scuba gear, so avoid the pools while you're in the compound, otherwise it will put the scuba gear back on and remove your active weapon. Once you get out of the pool you'll lose 3-5 seconds taking the gear back off.
I suggest you take out all the guys stealthfully while taking out as few cameras as possible, 1 or 2 will be necessary unless you are really patient.
If you're doing it solo you don't need to worry about the key cards or gate keys. If you are doing duos+, then one key card is held by a guard, the other is up in Rubio's office.
Once you get to Rubio's office there will be a fingerprint hack (its easy once you understand how it works) and get the files using the combination given to you in the basement, don't exit through the gate, go back into the compound, grab the secondaries in the compound (duos+), and exit through the main entrance, that causes a save-state, so if you die you don't have to start all over. If you are duos your loot bag should be full. If you are in duos, I recommend grabbing the painting first and is much gold as you can carry, don't bother with the cash.
If you haven't alerted anybody by then, make your way down to the main dock, if solo, or trios, then get the secondary loot there, grab a boat and drive away from the island. Your escape is undefined, so even if you don't make it to your designated escape route, you can leave the island in any direction.
If you are in quads, there's a good chance your loot bags won't be full, at that point you can decide whether you want to go and grab more secondaries, or leave the island while still in one piece.
If you have been caught, kill everybody and book it out the main entrance towards the main dock where you can grab a boat and GTFO. Because I was in duos I had right around 2mil each time, the one time I set the guards off on the way out I only lost 60-80k.
From what I can see you cant hold more than 800k in your loot bag, I may be wrong though.
Potential cut: 6mil
SOLO: 1.1-1.9 Mil
DUOS: 1.1-2.7Mil
TRIOS: 1.1-3.5Mil
QUADS: 1.1-4.3Mil
That Is my experience. If anybody has any good useful information there, I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated to the community. Such as:
*Better ways out of the compound
*Secondary Target values
*Any way to get the full potential 6mil? (During my scope out I had 4.2mil in Secondary targets. That left a total of 5.3mil, I was probably missing two secondary targets somewhere on the island)
*Anything I may have missed
UPDATE: For those of you wondering how the payouts compare to the Diamond Casino Heist.
The payouts for the DC heist hard modes are as followed, not including aggressive.
Cash: don't bother, reset your heist
Artwork: 2.7mil - 2mil split - 100k per 5%
Gold: 2.8-3.1mil -2.1-2.4 mil split - 105k-120k per 5%
Artwork can be done with DUOS (1mil each depending on cut) but gold has to be done with TRIOS (1.2mil 50%, 600k 25%) unless you want to leave 250k on the table. Which Gold DUOS would pay the sililar to Artwork DUOS.
Your best opportunities to make money on GTA online are going to be Cayo Perico SOLO or DUOS and Diamond Casino DUOS.
On another note: I haven't timed it yet, but it seems to take less time to do all of the Cayo Perico preps than the Diamond Casino Preps (Aside from identifying secondary contents). The Diamond Casino Heist takes 15-25 minutes when done correctly with Big Con or Silently & Sneaky while the Cayo Perico heist can be completed in 7-15 minutes SOLO and DUOS.

Beginners guide: Properties ranked by necessity

Based on Beginners guide: Properties ranked by Necessity by CretaceousFossil. Related: GTA Online property location guide, if you are wondering what the difference is between locations. For moneymaking specifics see /gtaonline's pinned weekly Mega Guide thread.
  1. An Apartment, Stilthouse, or Penthouse: The #1 property every player should have by Level 30 is an apartment. While they may be less effective property for earning money, they definitely have advantages. You can spawn there safely, not having to worry about spawn killing by griefers. If another player is relentlessly chasing you down, even if you own no other properties, you can evade them. And finally, its nice to feel like an actual resident of Los Santos. Also its the only way to do the regular heists as a host.
  2. CEO Office or Biker Clubhouse: It mainly comes down to what you like. You might like the clean, authoritative, high-rise feel of being a CEO, or you might like the gritty, street-level, rock'n'roll style of an MC president. However one or the other, is the second property you should invest in or at least prioritize. With the CEO Office, you won't need to make sure you have your 50,000 dollars every-time you join the game. Although the missions that come with the CEO are monotonous and underwhelming, so many of the other properties on this list require you to be a CEO or MC President to operate. As an MC president you have the ability to spawn in any bike you own, next to you with, no cooldown (except for the Oppressor Mk2); and as a CEO you have the ability to spawn in Organization vehicles (see #Organization_Vehicles on how to unlock them). You can also get free snacks at the Assistant in the Office.
  3. Bunker: If you are beginner or someone who doesn't own a ton of Mk2 weapons or weaponized vehicles, the money is definitely the best part. The resupply missions are fairly easy (but once you have both production upgrades, you should buy supplies), and most of the sell missions without rival players are a breeze. Whenever you are online and you have supplies in the Bunker, it is passively producing. This allows you to do other activities in the meantime. However besides the money, if you wish to own a lot of Mk2 Weapons and maybe a weaponized vehicle, the research does pay off. Also this property allows you to buy an MOC. While the interior may seem like a bunch of gray, drab, ugly, concrete tunnels at first, once you get the golf carts, sleeping quarters, shooting range, upgrades, and the yellow paint job its gives a nice industrial/laboratory feel.
  4. Vehicle Warehouse: Import/Export is one of the best solo money-making methods. There is no upfront cost as with Special Cargo but if done correctly it can still net a good $200k per hour (or more, combined with VIP jobs). The Specialized Vehicles stored in the basement are rather lackluster though, Rockstar introduced much more powerful weaponized vehicles since then, most of them even cheaper and customizable.
  5. (Special Cargo) Warehouse or MC Business: The warehouse's drop-shipping style buy & sell formula makes it the most straightforward and it's a good way to introduce beginners to selling. However, there are definitely some flaws with this option. While the selling yields good profits, if you lose your cargo, your losing time and money. Open-Road Businesses are similar in idea to gunrunning. Steal or buy supplies and wait for your stock to build up. However they don't pay that well, and are obsolete compared to other businesses.
  6. Nightclub: The nightclub definitely has some very good benefits. You get a free Speedo Custom right off the bat, which at first is a "so-so" vehicle, but once you have all the vehicle upgrades, the armor plating, the minigun, and mines, it's a very fun and effective vehicle. While the cargo accrues quite slowly, if you are patient and play the business battle missions, you will have some considerable stock. Plus you can purchase the Terrorbyte, more info on it below. For the Nightclub to be most effective you should own (and run, that is not have it shut down) other businesses, as the stock is generated from linked businesses. Keeping the Nightclub at higher levels of popularity will put more money every 24 ingame hours (48 minutes IRL) into your safe. Every ingame day decreases the popularity by 5% (1/4 of a popularity bar), changing DJs for $10k (once you unlocked them for $100k - this maxes out popularity) will up your popularity by 10% (half of a bar). Or you may wait a couple ingame days and do a popularity mission which increases popularity by 1.5 bar. You can see how much cash gets added into your safe (capacity: $70k) every day: https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Nightclubs#Cash
  7. Terrorbyte (requires Nightclub): The Terrorbyte is a really great vehicle. Besides having a literal base inside in a truck, which is sweet, it is incredibly functional. The missions have awesome pay considering the level of effort/hassle needed to complete them, plus you can remotely launch resupply missions for any of your businesses. If you decide to buy this truck, make sure you have over $1.2m extra, to get the drone station and missiles (though the latter is not very useful), and you if don't own a Mk2 weapon workshop, getting one with the terrorbyte is a good idea.
  8. Arcade: The Arcade provides another passive income (max $5k per day) to the player while also giving the player the ability to host Casino Heists which pay really well if the player knows what they are doing. The passive income depends on how many games are placed, you may even just place the same games in every slot to achieve the highest possible payout, you don't have to buy all the machines. Owning a Terrorbyte makes you able to hire Paige as hacker, which is necessary for good Casino Heist runs to max out the time you can spend grabbing loot (or you may alternatively unlock Avi Schwartzman as a hacker).
  9. Facility: The facility although one of the more expensive properties, can get you some serious cash and XP from the Doomsday Heists, plus the front desk has free snack. This is my favorite property just because of how expansive it is. With the wall designs, color scheme, fully upgraded quarters, and statues you get after the heists, its very aesthetically pleasing and is a good way to impress.
  10. Garage (standalone property): If you are too broke to afford an apartment because you don't that much time to play or apartments are not your thing, put this at number 1 over the apartment as the first property to buy. However although being able to to store cars, garages are obsolete considering you can add garages and garage levels to nightclub, and apartments and the facilities include garages. Also you can't set your spawn location to standalone garages.
  11. Mobile Operations Center (MOC) or Avenger): While both have a better bang for your buck than the warehouse, they aren't that crucial for beginning players. The MOC at first is very barebones and while there are missions that can be launched from it, they require multiple players and can't be launched in freemode. The Avenger can be a useful vehicle for freemode jobs (such as Hangar missions or Facility/Arcade preps) but it's definitely not necessary.
  12. Hangar: If you love flying in GTA Online and want to spend all your money on planes, this is the property for you. However, if you want to make money, it's not a very good option. Crates are only worth $10k each and the missions require some flying skills, and only give 1 crate per player in the MC or Organization, with a maximum of 4. The sale missions also require flying skills, some even more than the sourcing missions and some of them can't really be done solo.
  13. Arena Workshop: With the paint job, decals, and office, the Arena Workshop can be made to look very cool, and with the weapons workshop you can add weapons to vehicles and upgrade guns. You also have access to the Arena War career, which allows you to unlock discount prices for outfits and vehicle mods (albeit randomly, so it's not a very effective model), and the base prices for the upgardes are very steep. This property is over a million, so unless you are planning to buy a ton of discounted items or you just love Arena War, wait out on this one or skip it altogether.
  14. Casino Master Penthouse: Basically a very expensive apartment, with very expensive modular upgrades and decorations. You can also add a 10-car garage for $900k. It also lets you do the Casino Missions (from Agatha Baker) as a host, which upon completion awards the player with the Paragon R (Armored)) car, which is exclusively available from here.
  15. CEO Office Garage: Unless you are super rich and own more cars than you know what to do with, make this property dead last. It costs millions to add more levels. You can add a Custom Auto Shop (for even more money) with it to custom your cars straight from the garage though.
  16. Yacht: Big floating apartment on water, gives you the option to play one extra type of VIP job. Not a priority.

My personal GTA V/O wishlist. you don't have to like it but suggestions are welcomed.

WARNING: This Wishlist my give you high hopes and a boner. Also contains grammatical errors. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! Let me start off by saying I know asking most of these are asking for a lot but would still be awesome to have. After all a big part of GTA is the customization and making our character unique. keep in mind that this is just my opinion. So let me know what you think and what you would have added to the list.
  1. Garages can be re-arranged in a menu while in the garage.
  2. Parts you buy for your car can be switched out in your garage. Example: if i buy a set of rims for my Hotknife one day, then buy another set the next day i should be able to interchange those rims at my pleasure (same for bumpers, spoilers, exhaust tips, engine mods, ect).
  3. Ability to purchase different types of phones (like Michael's Trevor"s or Franklin's in story mode) or a Tablet (for bigger text and screen) and a speed dial icon to a contact of your choosing (calling Lester in a bind to lose the cops would be much easier than scrolling through a bunch of contacts).
  4. A Website like Craigslist or ebay where a player can sell their cars to friends, crew members or other players online. That way your car just doesn't disappear like when sold to a garage, and you can see a friend driving it.
  5. Payouts increased for most missions, the more effort the mission requires the higher the payout.
  6. Rewards from Gang Attacks, Crate Drops, and Good Behavior increase by level, or good behavior pay out will increase the longer you remain "good"
  7. Bad behavior "Dunce pool" players receive greater punishment (slower cars less powerful weapons run slower) and is easier to get into in order to discourage griefing, because a single player in a tank can blow up other players all day without any consequences.
  8. Prices of things from Merry-weather reduced. (this will encourage players to use this resource more)
  9. Passive Mode lets you use weapons, but they are ineffective against players, would work like friendly fire during a mission.(Mainly for pesky cops). Also cannot be killed by other players when in a car or be killed by being run over by other players while in passive mode.
  10. Different colored blips for bounties. (Example: $1000 Yellow $9000 Bright Red) I'm tired of chasing a player for 20 min only to find it was only $1000 when i could have robbed a store for $1200 in 2 min
  11. bility to buy "Bullshark Testosterone" and keep it in your inventory and take it when ever you want like how a player would eats snacks.
  12. Lift kits or ability to raise you car or truck
  13. More rim styles
  14. Ability to remove doors, hoods, bumpers, fenders all the way down to the skeleton. Just for the look of it. (i know it would be easy to add into the game. an would help make cars unique). This person wants it too.
  15. Flying squirrel/ wing suit Just imagine this going down Mt. Chilliad!
  16. Horses! they already have horse stables out in the country side and at the HORSE track. Why aren't they in game?
  17. Crew emblem on Parachute
  18. Apartment pets. cats, dogs, falcons, little sharks, ect.
  19. Picture mode allowing free floating camera (more like forza horizon's picture mode) for better Snapmatic pics
  20. Bring back Nitro (boost, nos or whatever you want to call it)
  21. Tactical or military wear (like Merryweather gear)
  22. leather driving gloves (because they'll look good with the suits)
  23. P51 Mustang for a dlc vehicle would also go well with a Springfeild bolt action sniper
  24. Mount guns on the back of trucks and on jeeps
  25. Motorcycles like this
  26. Chrome wheel paint
  27. Carbon fiber body paint
  28. Different colored Hid/ Xenon lights
  29. Rocket luancher that locks on to air and land vehicles
  30. Police mods like this
  31. Pull your own camper trailer that you can sleep in and save in (single player)
  32. Get rid of night vision on heli cams or be able to toggle it. (it's not even night vision its just a am with green tint and it makes it harder to shoot)
  33. Increase rocket speed. Being in buzzard and shooting rockets at cops or annoying players is extremely frustrating they move so slow that they are easily dodged you literally have to lead 3 seconds ahead.
  34. Exterior roll cage much like the Merryweather Jeep or like these 1 2
  35. Trophy Trucks I mean c'mon the truck would be fun as fuck!
  36. Bullet proof glass. Duh!
  37. Apache attack Heli (gunner has explosive rounds and pilot has missiles) would not be over powered if the auto lock rocket launcher is given as well.
  38. Undead Nightmare Los Santos edition where almost all cars are broken (so players gotta ride a horse) and ammo is rare
  39. Stockings for girls to go with the business update know this way in the valentines day dlc but i missed it for my girl charter and you could only be wearing underwear with them.
  40. We need more low! All these players shooting their tires to lower their cars want lower cars. how about just add airbag suspension.
  41. Hardcore Mode with no mini map or blips and less health. This would be fun to play some games like cops and robbers with friends where players and actually hide from others.
  42. Ability to block all incoming calls (shits annoying when you get calls form Simeon every 5 min)
  43. Cross bow or regular bow just for fun. This would also go well with the Undead Nightmare LS edition dlc.
  44. A bigger garage with a parking rack like this with a stare case on the side to get to the cars. Now I know a second garage update is on its way but being a car collector in GTAO requires more than 20 car spots.
  45. Iridescent paint
  46. Neon lights
  47. Put towtrucks in GTAO
  48. Crew Hide out. Most likely a big warehouse or hangar where crew members can meet up, plan heist or simply hang out. This Crew Hideout would include a gun range(not the mini game nut just a place to practice shooting/ no loading screen, score, or winner and loser), zip-line (for fast transport across the hideout and for fun), lounge area with LOTS of TVs(like a TV wall), it's very own black market dealer that can sell you heist spoils to and also supply guns and drug boosts(BS testosterone) and A big crew Flag mounted on the wall. Crew members would also be able to store CREW vehicles there; meaning any crew member can use it or customize it.
  49. Custom Apartments! Now most players paid for high end apartments only to find that their buddy spent 100k less and it looks exactly the same. My idea is that you can change you wall colors and choose what type of furniture you have. Example a player can switch out their bed, couch ect. for a better one
  50. In addition to custom appartments it would be cool if a player could put their favorite car on rotational display in their apartment. Much like this (I think it would fit nicely in replacement of the dining room table that is useless)
  51. Different types of suspension stiff for racing and soft for off-roading
  52. Ability to record short video clips from you phone. This is probably better for when it comes to PS4, given the sharing feature.
  53. kayaking down rivers or across the Alamo Sea.
  54. Some better hair styles for Female ALL characters
  55. Cop free game session. I understand that in this session there would be no activities such as robberies however it would be a fun session to goof around in with friends.
  56. Yachts just to have fun at sea and feel like a boss.
  57. Vtol Warship and another
  58. Brass knuckles along with other melee weapons like a machete, katana, or even a frying pan with a nice ping! sound when hitting enemies.
  59. Some cool cars from LA Noir would be cool. some rat rodded out (chop top and lowered) and some nice and clean (just how they were in LA Noir)
  60. The ability to choose car variation when you buy it. example when a player buys a Coquette they can choose top on or off
  61. Clothing Combination freedom (wearing hoodies under jackets and such)
  62. Anphibious Sea Plane like this one or this one
  63. Harpoon gun for shark hunting
  64. The ability to exit you building through the roof so you can parachute off or maybe have your Pegasus heli waiting for you up there
  65. Gambling! there's already a casino.
  66. a Dancing animation (just for fun)
  67. Fireworks! just fireworks that you can buy to either set off where ever you want or used as a weapon to shoot at friends and enemies.
  68. Flare Gun to go with the fireworks
  69. Smoke Grenade that puts up a wall of smoke. i know we have teargas but its not the same as smoke.
  70. Cars from GTA 4 like the Dukes, the Faction, the Saber, or Turismo. But over all just keep the old cars in and have new models of the old ones. example the Coquette have a GTA 4 version and a GTA 5 version but keep both in game.
  71. Motorcycles only take up half a spot in the garage so a player can fit 2 to a spot.
  72. if your gunna have wheelie bars make the car capable of wheelies
  73. An armory in your apartment to store weapons you don't want to carry.
  74. Ability to grab onto cars while on a bike for speed.
